TortureIn 2002 Stage and film actress Nargis was beaten black and blue allegedly by dismissed police inspector Abid Boxer one night. He had some relations with her so one day when she refused to give the documents of her property and millions than he allegedly cut her hair with a knife and shaved of her eye-brows. According to Nargis, Abid, along with three accomplices stormed into her Johar Town house at around 7:30pm . They held her sister Didar, sister-in-law Neelam, two nephews, a maid, cook and security guard hostage at gunpoint. She said he beat her up with a wiper and shaved off her eye-brows and head when she refused to accept his demands. Idress alleged that Abid was also involved in the dacoity at Didar’s house on Nov 26. He did not nominate Abid in the FIR because of fear. Police registered a case against Abid Boxer and others on the complaint of Nargis.
Death of his UncleZafar Abbas, his uncle a resident of DHA, Lahore, was also accused of murdering a director of a cooperative bank. His family claimed police arrested him in connection with a kidnapping-cum-murder of Naseem Sharif, widow of a retired brigadier. He was accused of fraudulently getting the property of the widow transferred in his name. On July 21, he along with his son was again produced before the court of District and Sessions Judge which cancelled his bail. His condition went critical when he saw no chance to escape. He was rushed to Services Hospital for treatment where he expired. Responding to a query, Umar Virk said that during interrogation, Zafar Abbas had confessed that they had killed Naseem Bibi and got her property transferred in his name. Police also recovered gold jewellery of the victim woman besides Rs 550,000 from Zafar Abbas.

Known for the killing of several alleged criminals in fake police encounters, a euphemism for execution without trial, Abid 'Boxer' was a symbol of terror during the 1990s owing to his links with the underworld of organised crime. Earning his nickname because he joined the police service on a sports quota, Abid had a reputation for his ruthless modus operandi and 'effectiveness' by operating above the law. He was later charged for extrajudicial killing and corruption and was sacked from the police force. He had since been a fugitive from law and one of the country's wanted criminals. Government also had declared some amount for his arrestment.
Rejects Imran's AllegationThe Punjab government has refuted allegations by PTI chairman Imran Khan that former sub-inspector Abid Boxer was behind a string of encounters at the behest of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Punjab governemt spokesman Malik Ahmed rejected the allegations as unfortunate and devoid of political acumen. He also termed Imran Khan as the undisputed kings of u-turns. He said that arrest of fugitive Abid Boxer is an excellent example of law enforcement, while the PTI chairman has the right to approach the courts over the matter.
