Kashmir Premier League 2021 is a professional Twenty20 cricket league founded for the first time in 2020. It is the first edition of KPL that will start from 6th August 2021. The league comprises 6 teams, among which 5 teams are representing different cities of Azad Kashmir.
It is also stated that the next edition of Kashmir Premier League will witness girls playing matches on the professional level. It will be the only professional level for female cricketers in Kashmir. Furthermore, this league is launched by a Pakistani politician Shehryar Afridi.

Kashmir Premier League 2021 History
In December 2020, Shehryar Afridi, a Pakistani politician appointed on many notable positions, came with this idea. Furthermore, he stated that girls would also be part of the next edition as it will be the best opportunity for those girls living in Azad Kashmir.
Masood Khan, the president of Azad Kashmir, has been outfitted as KPL’s Chief patron. On the other hand, Arif Malik is the president, and Shahzad Akhtar is assisting as the CEO of KPL. A notable personality Shahid Afridi is the Brand Ambassador while another legend Wasim Akram is the Vice-president.
The first edition will start from 6th August 2021 and will continue till 16th August 2021. However, the matches played in the Kashmir Premier League 2021 will not have official T20 Status.

On 16th Feb 2021, the KPL Anthum was released on Youtube. Many noted celebrities have become the brand ambassador of this league, including Ayesha Omar, Mehwish Hayat, Juggun Kazim, Iman Ali, Neelum Muneer, Ali Gul Pir, etc.
