Gaddafi Stadium Lahore
The Gaddafi Stadium was built in 1959, and it is owned by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The name was previously known as Lahore Stadium to host cricket matches in Lahore, Pakistan. Lahore Qalandars is the home team representing the people residing within the largest city of Pakistan. Moreover, the stadium is considered to be the fourth largest cricket stadium in Pakistan.
Apart from that, it became the first home of the Pakistan National Cricket Team. It was also the first-ever stadium to have used the modern floodlights with their power generators for standby. The architects behind the great construction of the Gaddafi Stadium were Mian Abdul Khaliq and Nasreddin Murat, respectively. The finals of the World Cup were hosted here in the stadium, due to which it was renovated in 1995.
Concerning the international matches and Pakistan home games, numerous matches of the Pakistan Super League and the finals of the 2017 Super League Pakistan were also hosted by the stadium.

Gaddafi Stadium History
A famous Russian Pakistani architect Nasreddin Murat Khan who has designed various awe-inspiring Monuments including Minar e Pakistan designed this Stadium in 1959. However, the construction of this stadium came to an end by other architecture Abdul Khaliq. At the start, it was named Lahore Stadium.
After a few years in 1974, to honour the leader of Libyan, Muammar Gadaffi the stadium was renamed Gadaffi Stadium Lahore. For the 1996 Worldcup, the stadium was redeveloped by Nayyar Ali Dada, a famous Pakistani architect who was graduated from the National College of Arts.

Various matches are held in the stadium including Pakistan Super League, T20 and WorldCup etc. PSL 2022 is also going to be held in the Stadium in Lahore. The international matches are being played here since the 1960s. Vaccination centres for COVID are also made here. A few matches of the 1987 World cup and 1996 Worldcup were also played here.
