Bangladesh High Commission provides information to its citizens, local citizens, or anyone who wants to visit Bangladesh or apply for its citizenship. It works to develop relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh to enhance political, cultural, and social connections. Both countries are Muslim majority countries. Pakistan got independence from British Raj in 1947. For 24 hours, Bangladesh and Pakistan lived together. Later Bangladesh separated from Pakistan after the Bangladesh liberation war in 1971. Pakistan hesitated first but recognized Bangladesh later in 1974 after pressure put by Muslim countries.

Pakistan Bangladesh Relations
Bilateral Relations.
- The ice melted for the bilateral relations after the recognition of Bangladesh by Pakistan. When Bangladesh applied to be a member of the UN, Pakistan resisted while China vetoes it. Later through a bargain, Pakistan released its prisoners of war. After the recognition of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujeeb Ur Rahman, the First Prime Minister, withdrew the ban on Pakistani Organization that was functional before the separation. For the first time, as a Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Mujeeb visited Pakistan for Islamic Summit. In the same year, Pakistani Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto visited Bangladesh. Both countries discussed and resolved issues that resulted due to War.
- The relations improved in the 1980s as five government officials visited Bangladesh and signed agreements of Trade and Cultural transmission. In 1985, Pakistan President, Zai ul Haq visited Bangladesh’s war memorial and called their heroes and his heroes. Bangladeshi President visited back to Pakistan in 1986. In 1998, Bangladeshi Prime minister, Sheikh Haseena visited Pakistan. In 2002, President of Pakistan General Pervaiz Musharraf visited Bangladesh. In his visit, he also visited the War memorial and said that the pain of the Bangladeshi brothers and sisters is shared by every Pakistani.
Trade Relations
Over the past many years, the bilateral trade between Pakistan and Bangladesh has improved. According to statistics, from 2001-2011, Pakistan’s exports to Bangladesh increased by 27 % each year. The Imports from Bangladesh improve by 9%. The total Trade value in 2011 of both nations was estimated at $983 million. Both countries have agreed to improve the bilateral trade and make new opportunities to be availed. Pakistani exports to Bangladesh include Cotton, oil, Machinery, and mechanical appliance. Bangladeshi’s exports to Pakistan include textile, agricultural products, and leather products.
Defense Relations
The Defense Relations have improved under the regimes of Zia ur Rahman in Bangladesh. The imbalance created by the Indian defense has led Bangladesh to improve its Defence relations with Pakistan. In 1980, several F-6 jets were gifted to Bangladesh

The visa policy of Bangladesh is determined by the purpose of the visit to Bangladesh. Like many other countries, Bangladesh also requires certain documents before processing the visa. Apart from the mandatory documents like Visa application form, pictures, and a receipt of fee submission of Visa, some visa types need certain approval or recommendation letters from the concerned authority. These documents depend on the nature of the visa that is applied.
Types of Visa
Visit Visa
Bangladesh High Commission issue a Visit Visa for a short period of a single entry. It needs a letter of invitation from Bangladesh and the passport of the applicant.
Business Visa
Business Visa has the validity of six months. The applicant must be sponsored from Bangladesh and must have a letter of Pakistani authorized company. Along with this, a letter from a recognized business chamber in Pakistan, a copy of the registration, and a bank statement must be shown.
Employment Visa
Employment visa is issued to employees and skilled technicians for multiple entries and 3 months validity. It needs a copy of the contract between employ and company, technician visa letter, and copy of an agreement between Pakistani and Bangladeshi companies.
Investor Visa
Investor Visa is issued for one year. It needs a letter of Bangladeshi Company and a letter of recommendation from Bangladeshi Investment development authority.
Student Visa
This visa is issued for a validity of one year. It needs documents related to admission, Bank statement of a financer if the admission is not secured in a government institution
Other Visas
Other visas include Visa for non-Pakistani nationals, Via on arrival, and visa for defense personal. Visa for defense is received from defense wing of the Bangladesh High Commission
