Asif Ghafoor is serving as Lieutenant General in Pak Army. During 1999 he participated in the Kargil conflict as a Major; from 2008 to 2010, he participated in operations carried out against terrorists in Swat and Fata as Lieutenant Colonel. During 2016 he commanded as a Major General a Division at Swat.
He has also performed as Director of Military Operations at general headquarters, as Brigadier he commanded the Divisional Artillery located along LOC (Line of Control) and infantry bridge. Asif Ghafoor Biography
Asif is a daring and most liked military official. He is popular among the Pakistani public because of his splendid military performance and his jaw-breaking responses to enemies. Major General Asif Ghafoor has a praiseworthy sense of humor and replies to his enemies via his courageous and witty answers.
He has served at several important military posts and contributes his services to Command and Staff College as a faculty member. He is the recipient of the Hilal-e-Imtiaz and COAS (Chief of Army Staff) Commendation Card.
Education of Asif
He is a graduate of CSC (Command & Staff College) Quetta, NDU (National Defense University) Islamabad, and Command and Staff College in Bandung. He completed his Master’s in Strategic Studies.
Asif has served on several commands, instructional, and staff assignments, including GSO-I Military Operations Directorate, Brigade Major Infantry Brigade, Assistant Military-Secretary of MS Branch, and Director Military Operations. He is serving as a faculty member at Command & Staff College.
He commanded his parent-unit in ‘Operation Al-Meezan,’ Artillery Brigade on LOC, Infantry Brigade on Eastern-Border & a Division at Malakand. Asif Ghafoor received ‘COAS (Chief of Army Staff) Commendation Card’ for carrying out operations in Bajaur, KPK during 2008, and Hilal-e-Imtiaz.
On 25th Nov 2020, he was elevated to Lieutenant General rank and was designated as Inspector General Communication and Information Technology.
