Ali Gohar Khan Mahar is a Pakistani politician who is associated with the Grand Democratic Alliance which is an electoral alliance of disparate political parties based in Pakistan. In 2018 the party collaborated with Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf by launching seat arrangements in more than ten seats with the mission of giving defeat to the PPP. Previously he served as District Nazim of his region Gotki. He likewise performed his duties as a member of the National Assembly for straight 5 years while being connected with Pakistan people’s party.

Political Career
- His political career started in 1990 when he contested the 1990 General Elections as an independent candidate from Constituency PS-3 (Sukkur-III) for the seat of the provincial Assembly but unfortunately, he faced defeat from his opponent by receiving only 90 votes. In 1993 he joined Pakistan Muslim League N and ran for the seat of provincial Assembly from Constituency PS-3 (Ghotki-III). He received 26,853 votes and gave defeat to PPP candidate Mehboob Ali Shah.
- In 1997 he collaborated with Pakistan peoples party and contested General Elections as a member of the provincial Assembly from Constituency PS-3 (Ghotki-III) and won the seat to Umeed Ali Chachar. During his tenure he also served as a District Nazim of his district Gotki.
- He kept running for the seat of the National Assembly of Pakistan and Provincial Assembly of Sindh from Constituency NA-201 (Ghotki-II) and from Constituency PS-8 (Ghotki-IV), separately in 2013 General Elections as an independent candidate, yet was ineffective. Unfortunately, he lost both the seats to his opponents by receiving fewer votes. In the same elections, he contested as a member of the National Assembly while being attached to PPP and gave defeat to Khalid Ahmed Khan Lund by receiving 86,579 votes.
