Qamar Zaman is a senior Pakistani Politician who is a member of the Pakistan Peoples Party for a long time and belongs to a Kaira Clan and is originally a Gujar. He also remained the former Minister of information and Mass-Media Broadcasting and has served the country for a long time. During the Military Government, he was the one who spoke about freedom of speech and democracy.

Junior college at Kharian Military District from where he did his intermediate Then he went to Forman Christian University in 1983 to earn his degree of bachelors in Philosophy. He was born in a political family of Gujrat. His father Muhammad Zaman and brother Tahir Zaman Kaira likewise remain the politicians for a long time. His cousin Tanveer Ashraf Kaira remained the Finance Minister of Punjab, Pakistan after the 2008 General Elections and dismissed from his post during the Cabinet Ministry of Mian Shahbaz Sharif. On 17th May 2019, his son Osama Zaman Kaira who was a student of Intermediate died in a road accident.
Political Career
- Beginning off as a vocal and noticeable student pioneer in 1970, he was cast in as leader of the student’ association at the Federal Government College, Gujrat. Afterward, he was to be known as one who raised his voice for the right to speak freely and the majority rules system amid the military government in the nation. Because of his work for the welfare of the general population of his legislation, he was chosen Nazim of the Union Council Gujrat. In 2002 his political career started when he was chosen Member of National Assembly. From the earliest starting point of his political vocation, he hosts worked for the Pakistan People party.
- He was chosen to the National Assembly and turned into a pastor in the alliance administration of PPP, ANP, MQM, and JUI-F framed after the 2008 General Elections. He is a senior chief of Pakistan Peoples Party, having won from his neighborhood body electorate in Gujrat. He was chosen to the workplace of Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas on 31 March 2008 and was given the extra office of Federal Minister for Information on 14 March 2009.
