  Born in Landi Kotal, Usman Khan Shinwari, the left-arm swing bowler, has played his club cricket for FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) region in Pakistan. He joined Peshawar-based Islamia Cricket Academy (ICA) at the age of 18 and was closely mentored by Wajahatullah Wasti and Qazi Shafiq.  In his maiden season, Usman claimed a fifer to steer Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) to victory against Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the final of the Faysal Bank T20 Cup for departments. Those five wickets also included a big name in the form of Misbah-ul-Haq who was then the ODI and Test skipper of Pakistan. It was that match-winning performance which aided him earn a spot in the Pakistan side later.  He was named in the squad for the ODI and T20 series' against Sri Lanka at UAE during December 2013. Although he couldn't get a chance to make his ODI appearance hitherto (August 2015), his T20I outing in both games didn't go as anticipated. Domestic

Usman Khan Domestic cricket for the ZTBL. On 3 December 2013, he took 5 wickets for 9 runs (including the wicket of Misbah-ul-Haq) to help ZTBL beat Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the final of the Faysal Bank T20 Cup for departments. He was also the tournament's leading wicket-taker with 11 wickets in six games.

He was given only one over in his debut game versus Sri Lanka at the DSC after it went for 9 runs. He was given his full quota of 4 overs in the next T20 and went for 52 runs.   1. Usman khan is the Pakistani fast bowler and his bowling speed is very good Sadeera Samarawickmara failed to adjust to the moving ball and inside-edged onto his middle stump. Dinesh Chandimal was utterly helpless against one that swung away, edging to Sarfraz Ahmed.
  2. In Usman's second over, Tharanga - just like the previous game - was unable to prevent one from sneaking in between his bat and pad. Niroshan Dickwella fell lbw to another prodigious inswinger.
