BiographyMr Tahir Iqbal Chaudhry son of Mr Muhammad Sharif was born on April 10, 1969 at Vehari. He graduated in 1996 from Karachi University. A businessman, who served as Nazim Union during 2001-02 as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab during 2002-07 and has returned to the Assembly for the second consecutive term in general elections 2008.
Political CareerTahir Iqbal served as National Assembly of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Q), from Constituency NA-60 Chakwal-I in general election, 2002.Nov 2002, he was admitted entry into the federal cabinet of former Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali.He was made Minister of State (Incharge) for (surrounding conditions) where he remained, June 2004.In June 2004, he was admitted entry into the federal cabinet of Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat and was made Minister of State for (surrounding conditions) where he remained until August 2004.In August 2004, he was admitted entry into the federal cabinet of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and was made Federal Minister for Environment with the additional portfolio of Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas.Tahir joined Pakistan Muslim League (N) ( PML-N) in 2011.tahir was again elected to the National Assembly as a candidate of PML-N from Constituency NA-60 (Chakwal-I) in Pakistani general election, 2013.
Elections 2013Mr. Tahir Iqbal Chaudhary son of Muhammad Sharif has become member of National Assembly after defeating veteran politician Ms. Tehmina Daultana of PML-N by 16702 votes. He joined PML-N after winning the National Assembly elections as an independent candidate from NA-169 ( Vehari-III).
ECP Accepted 23 Nomination PapersThe Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on declared 23 nomination papers as valid for elections to Senate general seats from Federally Administered Tribal Areas ( FATA) while the nomination papers of four candidates were rejected.According to the ECP, the candidates deemed valid to be nominated for the elections include Sajid Hussain Turi, Hidayat Ullah, Shamim Afridi, Mirza Muhammad Afridi, Hillalur Rehman, Malik Najamul Hassan, Shoaib Hassan, Tahir Iqbal, Syed Akhonzada Chittan, Saleh, Faizur Rehman, Said Jamal, Shahid Hussain, Pir Muhammad Aqal Shah, Shahban Ali, Haji Khan, Ziaur Rehman, Malik Afzal Din Khan, Syed Ghazi Ghazan Jamal, Jangriz Khan and Nizam Uddin Khan.The ECP further said that the nomination papers of four candidates that were rejected by the commission for the elections include Irfan Ullah, Haider Shah, Adnan Sattar and Shah Khalid.
