Swat River, river in northern  Pakistan , formed by the junction of the Gabril and Ushu rivers at Km in the Kohistan region. Fed by melting snow and glaciers and receiving the drainage of the entire Swat River valley, the river flows southward, then westward, until joined by the Panjkora River. The united stream then flows southwestward into the  Peshawar  Plain and joins the  Kabul River  at Nisatta after a 200-mile (320-kilometre) course. The Swat canals irrigate about 160,000 acres (65,000 hectares) in which sugarcane and wheat are the chief crops.[1] www.britannica – com

The flow of Swat River also depends upon the temperature. If temperature is high, the river will flow with great speed because the melting of glaciers is speedy at that time. Two canals had been built on this river to provide the area with more water for irrigation. The climate of river side is pleasant and this river plays a great part in tourism of  Pakistan .
