Pervez Khattak was born in a small town called Manky Sharif in the city of Nowshera on 1 January 1940. Hastim Khan, his father was a successful and hard working contractor. He completed his O levels by graduating from the Aitchison Collage in Lahore and then also completed his bachelor’s through the Gordon Collage.Pervez Khattak has altogether five children out of which 3 are sons. Two of them are currently completing their studies abroad while the eldest son Ishaq Khattak is managing his family business.Pervez Khattak started his political career in the year 1993 when he first ran for a provincial assembly seat in the general elections. At the time he was representing the Pakistan People’s Party. Later he was appointed the Minister of Irrigation NWFP currently known as KPK or Kyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.However he resigned from the ministry and from his provincial seat on December 15, 2011 in order to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Joining this party proved successful as he became the General Secretary after just two years.Pervez Khattak proved to be very successful in the general elections of 2013 as he was elected to be the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after winning the Provincial Assembly seat.[1] Pervez Khattak biography

Pervez Khattak born at the residence of noted government contractor Hastam Khan (late) on 1 January 1950 at village Manki Sharif in the politically fertile district of Nowshera, Pervez Khattak received his early education at the Aitchison College,Lahore.After doing Senior Cambridge from Aitchison,Khattak went to Gordon College,Rawalpindi for his graduation.He had also worked as political worker of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).Pervez Khattak is father of three sons and two daughters. His eldest son Ishaq Khattak, after completing his education, is managing the company that his grandfather had established before the creation of Pakistan. His other two sons Ibrahim Khan Khattak and Ismail Khan Khattak are receiving education in United Kingdom.[2] Early life and education 


Khattak had started his political career as a member of the district council in 1983 and later joined mainstream national politics. He was elected to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly for record five times, the last time on May 11, 2013. In general election 2013, Khattak won the National Assembly seat NA-5 Nowshera-I and provincial assembly seat, PK-13 in Nowshera-II from the PTI platform and defeated his political opponents with huge margin. Khattak remained the provincial minister of industries twice and once served as irrigation minister in the ANP-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.Later, he resigned from the Ministry of Irrigation due to difference with past government and joined PTI with a mission to serve his people with more dedication and zeal.As a true democrat, he contested PTI’s intra party election 2013 and lost the party's provincial president Asad Qaiser with a narrow margin. However, he did not disappoint and made inroads in the party by defeating senior PTI leader Dr.Arif Alvi on post of Central General Secretary. He also remained the first district nazim in Nowshera. He belonged to a political family of District Nowshera. His uncle Nasrullah Khattak was the chief minister of the province when Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the prime minister of Pakistan. During his long political career, Pervez Khattak also remained the provincial president of the Pakistan People's Party-Sherpao (now renamed Qaumi Watan Party). In General Election 2013, he was elected as the member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from PK-13 constituency of Nowshera and member of National Assembly from Constituency NA-5 bagging 70,000 votes as the candidate PTI.Khattak take oath as 16th Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 31 May 2013.He is the first chief minister from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.[3] Pervez Khattak politics

Chinese investors calls on KP CM

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has invited Chinese investors to invest in sectors of energy and mining adding said that new vistas of investment would open after development of infrastructure in backdrop of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).He was talking to a delegation of SINOMAC investment Company here at CM House. The Chinese delegation was led by Peter Tien, President Princeton Environment group China. Miss Fengying Wang, GM China SINOMAC Corporation, KP Minister for Industry, Mines and Mineral, Aneesa Zaib Tahir Kheli, Chairman EZDMC, Ghulam Dastagir was present on the occasion.Peter Tien said that SINOMAC Heavy Industry Corporation has interests in mines, heavy machines manufacturing, highway construction and power sector projects.Speaking on the occasion, CM appreciated the interest of the delegation and assured them of cooperation. Peshawar Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak said peace was returning back but regretted that anti-states elements at the behest of their foreign masters started hatching conspiracy to disrupt peace. This he said while addressing the Bar Council at Tangi Charsadda and talking to media men during his visit to the area . The Chief Minister indicated certain factors behind the present wave of terrorism. They would not succeed in their mission to disrupt peace and create the sense of insecurity. The Chief Minister paid rich tributes to brave cops on duty whose timely action foiled their attempt and saved many precious lives. “We are proud of brave KP Police and salute them,” he mentioned. The Chief Minister announced a prize of Rs. 5 million for Police Personnel. He also announced a package for martyres and injured of Charsadda blast.The Chief Minister said law & order situation was heading towards rapid improvement but forces inimical to progress and prosperity were hatching conspiracies, adding recent wave of terrorists attack was a well planned conspiracy of anti-state elements but their nefarious design would be foiled with collective and coordinated support of the whole nation.He said the political leadership, Pak Army, Police, Law enforcement agencies were all on the same page to fight this evil.[5] CM announces prize for brave policemen 

Pervez Khattak achievements as Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

On 13 May 2013, Chairman PTI, Imran Khan nominated Pervez as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the top post in the province where Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is the single largest party with 45 out of 99 seats, the party gained another 10 seats through allocation which increased its total seats to 55. Khattak was elected CM with 84 votes, more than his nearest rival from JUI-F Maulana Luftur Rehman who secured 37 votes. He will head a coalition government with PTI as the leading party while Jamaat-e-Islami and Qaumi Watan Party will also be part of the government.

    Khattak supported the judiciary of his province, rather than confronting it like the previous government. The mobile court is used to dispense justice and mediate between disputes.The courts during his term have completed several achievements in favor of human rights . Khattak and the judiciary have common cause in rooting out corruption from the province.

    Relations with the Federal Government

    Straight away after assuming office Khattak declared that he will pursue a non-confrontational approach with the Federal Government which is controlled by Nawaz Sharif, he hopes this détente will create a more stable environment for the KpK government to produce results.[6] Relation with the federal government  

    New Defence Minister

    Parvez Khattak who is a member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and is also a former Wazir-e-Alla of KPK has won the General Elections 2018 from NA 25 Nowshera by securing 61243 votes and gave a major defeat to his opponent Malik Jummah Khan of Awami National party. After winning the Elections Parvez Khattak has been appointed a New Defence Minister by Imran Khan on 18th August 2018.
