Mohammad Jibran Nasir was noted by Foreign Policy Magazine amongst the three Pakistanis making considerable effort against sectarian violence. On 16 January 2015 after one month of Army Public School massacre in Peshawar that left 150 dead, a new movement marginalized urban liberals rallying to "Reclaim Pakistan" from violent extremism. Following his release he addressed protesters gathered and reiterated his 15-day ultimatum to government for taking action against banned organizations.

Biography

Mohammad Jibran Nasir is a Pakistani lawyer, civil rights activist, blogger, and an independent politician. Jibran is involved in relief work through Elaj Trust and advocacy for marginalised communities through Pakistan For All and is working to strengthen the counter extreme narrative through Never Forget Pakistan.[1]  Biography This dapper young gentleman barely needs an introduction! Jibran most recently made waves across Pakistan as the ‘Azaad Umeedwaar’ candidate from Karachi’s NA-250 and has since been casting a spell on us, particularly in his passionate election videos, urging his fellow Pakistanis to vote responsibly.

Jibran regularly engages youth on topics of extremism and social taboos and has spoken at a total of 40 national and international Universities such as LUMS, IBA, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia etc.

He has appeared on a number of mainstream TV channels as an anchor and analyst as the past. He runs NGOs and leads movements and protests against extremism and sectarian violence.

Movement

His movement shot to increased fame and prominence in the wake of the December 16, 2014 attack on a school in Peshawar by the Taliban, when he led a protest against an infamous religious cleric who refused to condemn the attack. He visited Yale as part of a tour of US universities to rally support for his anti-extremism movement and sat down with The Politic prior to his talk. Jibran Remains Grounded

Despite having become a household name in such a short time, Jibran remains grounded and true to himself. What we find especially heart-warming is his inability to see others in misery and hatred for hypocrisy. Jibran values sincerity over everything else and believes that someday, Pakistan will rise from all of its troubles and prosper if its youth comes forward as he has and fights for it. Let’s just say we can’t stop drooling over his mature and charismatic personality, especially when he is out on the streets, leading the anti-rigging dharnas and working for a better tomorrow.

He is also an ardent squash player who enjoys cooking in his free time! Plus, he has knack for singing.
