  1. This university CUSIT is an extended project of the Peshawar Model Educational Institutions (PMEIs) which was founded in 1979 with the aim to deliver quality education. In appreciation of the extraordinary educational services provided by the PMEIS, the institution was granted the charter of a University by the Government of KPK. The foundations of the CUSIT were laid down on 30th August 2001.However the formal inauguration of the university was done by Gen (R) Syed Iftikhar Hussain on Oct 06, 2001 in the presence of the well-known nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan.
  2. The university promises to disseminate high quality education and cutting edge instructions to its students. The university lays emphasis on research and innovation for which hi-tech and sophisticated labs and research centers are built.
  3. The University not only focuses on academic excellence but also makes genuine efforts to produce graduates with wholesome personalities. Therefore righteous knowledge is delivered, skills are honed and a positive attitude is built in the students so that the graduates of City University are a complete package. The university inculcates moral, social and religious values among the students. To make sure the students are provided premium education a Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) has been established in the university. The policies of QEC of City University are in compliance to the standards of QEC of HEC. A rostrum of highly qualified, well experienced and top class faculty members exists in the University. The comprehensive curriculum, conducive learning environment and amiable atmosphere of the University are worth appreciating. Significant contributions to learning have been made by sophisticated laboratories, well equipped libraries and well-resourced class rooms.

  • These faculties offer graduate level, post graduate level degrees and programs in various disciplines.
Each Academic year comprises of 2 semesters at the City University namely fall and spring semester. Each semester would comprise of 18 weeks where most of the part will be dedicated to teaching the curriculum of the course, around one week time shall be given for exam preparation while the remaining days shall be used up in conducting exams. A semester break of 4 weeks is granted to the students after the exams of each semester.A list of courses are taught at the City University, various teaching strategies such as lectures, seminars, practical work ,didactic work, demonstrations and group discussion are used.According to the policy of the University, no course shall be offered if there are inadequate number of students registered in it. Some courses require a prerequisite, the students are obliged to full fill the pre requisite requirements before registering for a course. Undergraduate Programme

The undergraduate programme offers a 4-years degree in "Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering" with following streams:

The degree program is covered with state of the are courses designed by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and in accordance with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Guidelines. Laboratory work is done with theoretical courses to illustrate important concepts and provide practical demonstration to students. The laboratories are well equipped with the related courses requirements. The Bachelor's degree curriculum provides exposure to a wide spectrum of basic knowledge in Physics, Mathematics and Computer, followed by an intensive coverage of the principles of Electrical Engineering, both in the class-rooms as well as in the laboratories

Scheme of Studies

  1. Course work for earning degree comprises theory courses, laboratory courses and project. Courses offered to the students are selected by the Department from the given list of HEC/PEC approved courses.[5]  Scheme of Studies 
  2. During the 7th and 8th semesters, students carry out group-projects and write project-reports. The project comprises of 3 credit hours (9 contact hours per week) in each semester, Grade 'I' (Incomplete) is awarded for the project in the 7th semester, which is converted into the earned letter grade at the end of 8th semester, based on students performance in both semesters.

The Department

  1. Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2014 in order to meet the short and long term requirements of industrial/commercial organizations of Pakistan for graduates in Civil Engineering. Subsequent to the decision of the Board of Governors for starting the discipline of Civil Engineering, University improved its infrastructure in accordance with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) guidelines and developed purpose built Classrooms, Laboratories and allied facilities.
  2. Before the commencement of the programme, Pakistan Engineering Council inspected the University's facilities under its Zero Visit and gave prior permission to start its degree programme in Civil Engineering.

Mission Statement

The objective of the department is to provide Sate-of-the-Art education in Civil Engineering that enables new generation of Civil Engineers to meet the challenges of the future construction industry, promote a sense of scholarship, leadership and service to the mankind through creativity and innovations.

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) is established under the regulations by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. The QECs are quality assurance units developed at all public / private sector Universities to a focused attention on quality assurance aspect of higher education. These cells are required to develop and implement the measures of quality assurance with promises of quality enhancement to meet the international standards of higher education. The QECs will be operated by all public / private sector universities for execution of the quality assurance policies designed by QAA of HEC, Pakistan with uniformity of pace and standards. The QECs will be regulated, guided and monitored by QAA of HEC.[9]  Quality Enhancement Cell

The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) is established under the regulations by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan. The QECs are quality assurance units developed at all public / private sector Universities to a focused attention on quality assurance aspect of higher education. These cells are required to develop and implement the measures of quality assurance with promises of quality enhancement to meet the international standards of higher education. The QECs will be operated by all public / private sector universities for execution of the quality assurance policies designed by QAA of HEC, Pakistan with uniformity of pace and standards. The QECs will be regulated, guided and monitored by QAA of HEC.

QEC Aims

  1. Quality Promotion: The development of a program of activities to institutionalize a quality culture in higher education and a commitment to continuous quality improvement, and
  2. Capacity Development: The development and implementation of initiatives to build and strengthen the capacity for high quality provision at institutional, learning program and individual levels.
  3. Faculty Assessment: Measurement of the expected outcome/performance from individual faculty member through standard internationally evaluated and tested procedures after having provided the requisite teaching and research infrastructure and facilities.
  4. Departmental Reviews: Measurement of the performance of each Academic Department/Institute/Center through conducting annual review based on the standard parameters set for this purpose.
  5. Accreditation: Regular assessment and review of the institutes and colleges affiliated with the University of Peshawar in order to assure the quality of the teaching staff and the teaching and training provisions provided to the students

The objectives of the QEC are: 1.  Maintaining and enhancing the academic firmness and professional relevance of undergraduate and graduate courses. 2.   Improving the variety, strength and international recognition of research and scholarly activities. 3.   Ensuring appropriate standards, relevance and imparting of values to the satisfaction of the community and the nation. 4.
