BiographyAmjad Saleemi is famous for his honesty, hard work and dedication towards his career. He was born in 1960 in a Toba Tex Singh city of Pakistan and received his MSc Degree in Engineering (Geology).
CareerAfter completing his education he started his carer in 1986 by joining the Police service of Pakistan as ASP. With his hard work, he soon got promoted to the rank of SP in 1992. He served as a post of SP for almost 18 years and gave his services in different districts of Punjab including Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Narowal, Sialkot, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Jhang, Gujranwala, Mianlwali and Bhakkar, DIG Operations Lahore, RPO Sahiwal, and Baluchistan. In 2008 he was promoted to the rank of a DIG. Apart from his services he also uttered some professional courses and training for his better future and also took part in the UN Mission.
Appointed as new NHMP IGIn May 2018 he was appointed as the new National Highway Authority and Motorway Police Inspector general. Previously Dr. Kaleem Imam was serving at this post. In this service, he got promoted to BS-22 from BS-21. On promotion, the officer is transferred and posted as NHA&MP IG under the Ministry of Communication until further orders. He is now the Grade 22 officer of a Police Service.
Appointed as a New IG PunjabJust after the few months of promotion as a New NH&MP IG Amjad Saleem has again been promoted as a new Inspector General Punjab Police replacing Tahir Khan on 9th October 2018. Tahir Khan was elected as a Punjab IG after the General Elections 2018. The notification of his promotion has been issued by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. According to Fawad Chaudhry, the reason behind replacing Tahir Khan is his disobedience. While according to Maryam Aurangzeb these are the tactics of PTI before the by-Elections.
ECP blocks Amjad Saleemi PromotionAfter the few hours of Promotion of Amjad Saleemi as a New Punjab Inspector General, Election Commission of Pakistan has suspended the notification due to the by-elections which will be held on 14th October 2018.
